It has been a while since I have posted a haul on my blog and I was very lucky this year to receive a few little beauty bits for Christmas so I thought I would share these with you. I also popped to Wilko over the weekend and treated myself to a few more Essence eyeshadows which I have also included in this post, they are really beautiful shades.
Firstly, for Christmas, I received a few new pieces by Maybelline and Rimmel, two of my favourite drugstore brands and the products are all ones I have had on my wish list for some time. I really enjoy using the Rimmel Eyeshadow Crayons for day to day wear as they're so easy to apply and it can look like you've spent hours on a makeup look when really, it took a few seconds. The shades that I have added to my collection are Bootleg Brown which is a deep chocolate brown shade that I plan to use for eyeliner or as an eye base for a really intense eye look. I then have Trespassing Taupe which is the most amazing matte brown shade, it reminds me very much of the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Creamy Beige, its very natural and the perfect everyday shade. Lastly I have the shade Rose Gold which is the shade I am probably most excited about, its beautiful and I love anything rose gold at the moment! I can't wait to try these shades out on the eyes to see how they pay off, especially that gold.
I then received one of the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liners in the shade Epic which is a beautiful dark nude shade, it reminds me of MAC Velvet Teddy, I imagine this would pair nicely with that lipstick. I really like the Rimmel lip liners as they are a twist up pencil so theres no sharpening involved and the product seems to last for such a long time, they're really great value for money. Lastly for Christmas my Mum picked me this Maybelline Blush in a really beautiful pink shade, there isn't actually a shade on the packaging but it is so beautiful, completely my sort of blush shade.
As mentioned above, whilst I was in town the other day I popped to Wilko on the hunt for some more Essence goodies and thats exactly what I ended up with. I picked up three more of their single eyeshadows as these have such a beautiful formula and they are really inexpensive at just £2.30 each. The shades I went for were snowflake which is a beautiful white shimmer that looks so stunning as an inner corner eye highlight. Next I went for the shade rosy happiness which is quite a subtle light pink shade that works really well for me as the pink tones aren't too strong yet its still really pretty. Finally I picked up the shade keep calm and berry on which is the most amazing berry shade eyeshadow I think I have ever owned. The colour is stunning and the pigmentation is so rich, it also has a tiny hint of glitter in this one so it is perfect for this time of year.
Have you purchased any drugstore makeup yet this year?
